The Dragonfly Raku Urn is handmade by a master potter and raku-fired to give the glazed exterior a unique pattern of greens, golds, and copper. This gorgeous urn also features a dark gray dragonfly symbol on the front, which is commonly associated with change, peace and harmony. The symbolic meaning of this urn and its one-of-a-kind design would be a heartfelt tribute to a loved one.
The art of raku-firing was created centuries ago by the Japanese and is now used worldwide by ceramic artists. Firing the Dragonfly Raku Urn involves the urn being taken out of the kiln while the glaze is still molten. It is then placed in an airtight container with materials such as straw or leaves, where they ignite in flames. The combustion of the natural materials creates a unique pattern and color combination on the exterior of the urn.
This artistic urn stands out whether at a memorial service or at home. The lid can be permanently sealed with an adhesive if desired.
