The Memento Biodegradable Urn in Blue has a unique design that allows family and friends to include handwritten notes inside the urn as it gently floats to sea. Twenty blank note cards provided with this completely biodegradable urn. Many families choose this urn in order to make a scattering ceremony more meaningful and beautiful.

How it works: A water soluble bag is provided with this urn. A funeral professional can place the loved one’s cremated remains inside the bag and then inside the Memento Urn. At this time, the urn compartment can be sealed with biodegradable sealant (included). Family and friends can write messages on the provided note cards at a memorial service immediately preceding the water burial or whenever is convenient for the family. Note cards are then inserted into a slot on top of the urn. After the urn is placed in the water, it will float for a few precious moments and then sink into the water and completely biodegrade after a period of time.

Each Memento Biodegradable Urn is packaged in an eco-friendly box that may be discretely carried to the water burial site.

A memorial donation is included with the urn. When the card included with this urn is filled out and returned to the Memento Biodegradable Urn manufacturer, the manufacturer will make a donation in memory of the loved one to The Ocean Conservancy, an organization that protects ocean ecosystems and conserves global abundance and marine wildlife.
