Many people prefer stainless steel for memorial jewelry as it is easy care -- it does not tarnish or react to moisture. The inner compartment is accessed via a threaded screw that is integrated in the bail. It simply screws closed and can also be permanently sealed in the closed position if desired. Each pendant comes with a Filling & Sealing Kit with instructions. The bail must be sealed properly using the adhesive that is provided before it can be worn.  The adhesive instructions should be followed very carefully.
